Last year’s Superbowl ad ‘Parisian Love’ from Google’s Search Stories made me create this short video that tells a little what hiremelondon was about:

Some Facebook apps become much more successful because they are simple and shareable. Plus the insight is important since you need to have a good understanding of what gets your fans excited. Lacta Chocolate Facebook app by OgilvyOne Greece is a good example for this. They created an app that let people customise a Lacta chocolate wrapper in their loved ones name, comparing it to a particular Lacta flavour before using the wall to wall post feature to get the message across. In 2 months, it generated 250.000 fans with thousands using personalised chocolate wrappers as profile pictures.

This is a real time social tracking app to score the biggest ad campaigns during the 2011 Super Bowl. It works by measuring positive, negative and neutral sentiment from Tweets about brands during the big game, along with total tweets for a brand and total tweet for all brands, before breaking them down, so that everyone is on a level playing field, whether they have five ads or just the one.

Facebook-Games-Statistics2

I have come across with some Facebook stats on digitalbuzzblog about the Facebook games and it’s pretty interesting:
With Cityville reaching 100 million users in just 42 days (that’s 7x the number of people that live in the world’s largest city, Shanghai) it’s hard to ignore the continued Facebook gaming growth. Whether you love Facebook games or hate them they are fast becoming an integral part of the user experience. Check this out for Facebook Gaming:

A friend of mine shared this on Facebook and I found it very cool. This 3D projection mapping for Tron combines a number of technologies together. IR lights and camera tracking have been added in order to project exactly where and when the skateboarders were as well as 3D projection mapping elements. Plus, each rider have been equipped with a iPod touch that tracked speed and airtime in order to relay back commands as to what extra special effects should be projected in real time based off each individual trick.

Glue Isobar created this campaign for the new Toyota Auris with Hybrid Synergy Drive (HSD). The car recycles energy as you drive – hence “Get Your Energy Back” – and they used projection mapping to bring to life the technology itself. I loved it, check it out:

I miss my friends (family members included), I miss my office, I miss my flat (the last one was my sis’ but still felt like was mine too), I miss the cold but sunny weather in winters, I miss the pubs (even standing in front of them for hours), I miss polite cab drivers, I miss the parks (If I go lay down in a park in Ist, they’d think I’m crazy or homeless), I miss leaving the office early on Fridays, I miss improved digital media understanding, I miss to see people from all around the world, I miss the kindness and civilization, I miss not having internet bans, I miss pimm’s and lemonade, I miss laid-back people, I miss people not staring at each other to check what they are wearing, I miss people do whatever they feel like, I miss everyone being different and having different styles, I miss feeling like I’m in South America  when I go to South American bars and feeling like in Greece when I go to the Greek ones, I miss the media lunches and media night outs, I miss seeing people running or cycling eventhough I never did that, I miss the smell of cold, coffee and grass , I miss Angel, Bricklane, Shoreditch, Sloane Square, Covent Garden, Southwark, London Bridge, Embankment,  Read the rest of this entry »

About this blog

I created this blog to support my job hunting in London. The idea of creating a blog came up while I was talking with great friends about how much I wanted to move back to London and work there. As I mentioned on the ‘Who’s that girl’ page I completed my MA Marketing Management degree at Middlesex University in 2008. However, I didn't have the luck to find a job in London because of the global credit crunch back then. So, I moved back to my home town Istanbul...After having a year of digital agency experience in the project management team, I suddenly decided to move back to London and wanted to try my chances for London once again and give it all! I wanted to do something more creative rather than just sending over my cv and cover letter and wanted to tell about myself and why I want to move back to London. Nevertheless, I didn’t want this blog to be full of 'I want to work in London’ sentences but also tell about the marketing campaigns that I like. After 2 months of job hunting I found the perfect one in one of the biggest media agencies and started working there as a Digital Account Executive for the global team. However, due to a change in the UK working laws I was unable to extend my work permit and therefore, I had to move back to Istanbul.
